Default Intro!

Whats up everyone!? Been trolling around for a couple weeks, figured I join since there is a lot of info and action! Bought a 04 DVX400 couple weekends ago. Was a 2 owner machine, that aside from cosmetics, was really well taken care of.

I am on arcticchat, vwvortex, and buellxb with the same username if anyone uses those.

First thing I did was put in a new DID cam chain. Adjuster was maxed and chain still had slop. Changed fluids, obviously, once it was back together. New plug, air filter, grips, and a thumb throttle (PO had a twist on it) and new cable. Hoping to get out on the trails this weekend and see how she does! Now for the pics!

Welcome, I am on arcticchat as well, same name. I am in the process of converting my dvx to a z. The plastics/fender mounts suck on the dvx so I switched. If you need the service/parts manuals, let me know.

I am not a fan of the plastics either! but we ride a lot of trails and i'd rather put money elsewhere than plastics that are gonna get roughed up. I am good on gear, but would like some new tires, exhaust, nerf bars, etc... You know the list is never ending haha. I actually have the service manual for it, sat at work and printed it out entirely and bound it to keep in my tool box. Thanks though!

The seat isn't as nice as the Z's t-shaped seat either.

Put the pages back to back in page protectors then a 3 ring binder. It will lay flat instead of trying to close on you and the pages wont get all stained up from your hands.

thats actually what I did, guess bound was the wrong terminology. the protectors are nice cause the oil and grease wipes right off!

welcome, I actually like the TT, just really into convertibles.
Good looking dvx, it will soon be a never ending money pit after reading about all the mods talked about here.

You have a very good point, didn't really think of that, but after 3 years I am sure i don't have to really consider it. No she doesn't have to go, but she has a wolverine 450 4x4 and she rips pretty hard so more often than not she will be going. Since I am still in college none of my friends have quads, more so just her family which is another reason she will go a lot.

I am a former DVX owner as well. i liked everything about it, except the seat, which is best described as riding around on an AXE handle. Seriously, it's brutal after a long day.

I traded mine off, and Picked up a KFX instead. The seat is so much better.
