You can run 93 OCT with your piston. No need for octane booster.

His piston is around 12.2:1 with the three layer, 13:1 with single layer. The carb is whats killing him No, i'm not going to let that go

well that sucks...

I would have been better off with a single layer gasket than buying the gasket and a 12:1 piston.

so a 12:1 piston w single layer gasket would actually produce less compression than stock piston with single layer?

ANYONE HAVE THE FORMULA TO CALCULATE C/R USING MAX CYLINDER PSI?

What ever your aftermarket piston advertised compression is, its based off a single ply base gasket.

you should use A real compression ratio calculator. Cranking cylinder PSI isn't a true indication of your compression ratio, its just how much pressure your producing while starting. Your compression ratio is the cylinder volume at TDC compared to BDC. Also factoring your piston dome/dish, combustion chamber volume (stock is 25cc), gasket thicknesses and bore/stroke.

That seems like a HUUGE WASTE!
I'm not at stock compression, it's around 12.2.1. Also that piston is part of my 450 big bore that I have on my bike and I got it all trading my carb for it straight up we could race sometime so I can show you it's not a waste

Haha! I know your not gona let it go til I get my fcr lol.... I'm working on it as soon as I get my tax money I'm getting one and a noss adaptor for it and have sredrum taper bore it at a 42mm. Been stalking eBay every night for a good deal. My g/f is buying my haulers for me so that's saving me cash towards my carb

Dude, I wasn't bad mouthing. I was just trying to understand the whole compression thing. It was stated that a 12.2 piston with a 3 layer was stock compression. I was curious as to why your piston with a three layer wouldn't be the same, is all.
That's why I had the 'confused' thing after what I said.
