there is a brass flat-head screw at both ends of the shock. compression adjustment is at the top of the shock and rebound is at the bottom. to make sure its the right thing that you're looking at, there should be a small diagram above the screw. H<-->S or S<-->H i cant remember which one it is. hope this helps.....its also in the owners manual.

If it moves and it shouldn't, use ducked tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40.

Great info, I'm a motorcycle racer and more familiar with setting sag on a bike. Was curious what kind of sags to set on the Z and now I know.

Some other bits of info that I'm sure transfer over from the 2 wheeled world to the 4...When setting your compression and preload on the front and rear, you should have somewhat similar settings. An extreme example would be the rebound on the front shocks set full soft, and the rebound on the rear set full hard. This would obviously cause some wierd things to happen and hopefully you would never set it that way to begin with. But, smaller differences are harder to see.

Checking if your front/rear rebound and compression settings are close though can be tricky on a bike but I'm thinking easier on the quad. (You don't have to hold it up...) To check, you would want to push/jump down on the quad from a point that would put equal pressure on the front and rear at the same time. They should compress and rebound at relatively the same speed. If you notice your front has compressed/returned and stopped moving and the rear is still returning, then you have some fine tuning to do. It can be hard to notice the difference, but if you are way off you will definitely know.

This thread is making me realize I may have a dilemma. I weigh 160 so my quad is kinda stiff on the bumpier trails but still bottoms out on things like jumps on the track.
What does one do now? I really don't wana stiffen the shocks for the jumps because then I'll have issues on the trails in the bumpier/technical sections.
Ideas?

There is no magic setting that will "do it all" so to speak. Really the best thing you could do is find out what setup works best for each a write your settings down so you can change your suspension based on the type of riding you'll be doing the most of that day.

That's what I was afraid of,lol. Most days I actually do both. Longer a-arms and better shocks perhaps?
