Stock Front Shock Bushing Rebuilt Kit

ok. ive been talking to a guy at All Balls Bearings. they are shipping me some parts to try out to rebuild my bottom front shock mounts for my stock shocks. i cant afford to buy a set of nice aftermarket shocks and i know there are some more of you out there that cant either. i should be getting these parts at the latest by the first of the week. i will try em out and tell you all how they do. if they work or not. if they dont work out i will be shipping my shocks to them so they can build a kit for them. i still need to find some thing to put on my bike temporarily so i can still ride. if any one has some i can borrow. any one near columbus ohio. i will pick them up or some thing. i just dont want to waste money on some thing i only need to use 1 or 2 times. i dont care what they are as long as i can put them on the Z. thanks.

OK. for all of you who want to keep your stock front shocks, you are in luck. i just finished installing the stuff that All Balls sent me. it worked out great. its basically the same setup as stock. i now need to call my guy there back and tell him whats up and next they need to get a kit on the market with seals and every thing. hope this helps out every body else that was wanting to stick with the stockers or have them revalved. now there is another option.

if any body needs or wants the rebuild parts for their lower shock mounts, let me know. they wont have any kits out to any dealers for a while so if you need them you will have to get it from them directly. if any one is interested just hit me up.

some one might want to pin this. here is the deal with the front shock rebuild kits for the stock Z400 shocks. i installed these parts in my own Z shocks and have been running them for a while now. they seem to be working great so far. pretty easy to install. pretty much just like changing any other bearings or bushings. you have to press out the original sleeve and press in the new one. thats the hardest part. the new one will be slightly shorter than the original but it works just fine. everything else is perfect. if any one is interested in getting a kit for their shocks
call 1-610-473-0505 Ask for Alex. that is the guy i was dealing with up there. tell him Jim Hamilton sent you.
it will be a while before they get anything in the dealers so you will have to call them direct.

Anybody reading this - keep in mind, this is only for the 2005-and-up front shocks... Not the '03 and '04 pogo sticks.

Bummer..i was getting excited....mine are wore out. when i get around to it i may make some solid ones out of aluminum then. Not to worried as i have the fox floats on there, but i throw the stockers back on when goin in the woods so i dont mess up/scratch the fox shox...

whats different about the 03-04 mounts? i have a set of the old pogos and an extra kit they sent me. i can try to see if they work. i didnt see any difference in them though.

i just double checked. the 03-04 shocks have the same size bushing and looks to have the same sleeve in the hole. the seals will work too. from looking at every thing and measuring every thing, they seem to be the same. i think it will work.

ahh, i gotcha. honestly, id rather hold on to them. i plan on having my Z for a long time and i know i will have to replace them again in the future. give Alex at All Balls a call and tell him that i, James Hamilton the guy that tested them out, sent you. i cant see them charging you very much at all for a set.

i just looked at the older Z shocks that i have again, and i am 99% positive this kit will work for them too. the only thing that is a little different is the older seals look a little different. but the new seals look different than the original seals. but they work.

Just talked to Alex at All Balls bearings today and these kits are still available. The items are just not set up as a "kit" yet, so he asked me to list the part numbers on here for him and that in the mean time he would work on getting a pre-packaged kit set up in the system.

So.... the part numbers are as follows.

(1) Bushing #40-1108
(1) Pin #40-2317
(2) Seals #40-4161

Apparently there is not a price entered in the system yet for the bushing, so he said to tell everyone that for now atleast to just consider the "kit" for one shock to cost $10. He said he would adjust it one way or the other price wise once he found out what all the items cost them.

Note: this parts list is for ONE lower shock mount. If you want to do TWO lower mounts you will need to double each of the items listed.
