A couple of weeks ago I posted a problem I had with an LSR swingarm I had bought used off of another site. The problem I had was that the swingarm was made with a custom skidplate bolt pattern that no one knew for sure what it was. I decided to go with the idea Camaro gave me (thanks).
The idea he had proposed originally came from a Blingstar unit, but unfortunately for me they dont make the rotor guards for a Z, so I had to make my own. I used a LSR sprocket hub that has a 450R bolt pattern so I wouldnt have to make my own sprocket guard. The 3rd pick shows a Blingstar sprocket guard, but I'll be running the Traxx performance guard shown in the other pics due to the Blingstar not offering enough protection for a 40 tooth sprocket. |

Thanks guys. I'm a little nervous about running the rotor guard like that actually because I really only seen one person with this type of set-up and only read about a handfull of others that run it as well. All the reviews Ive read have been good but I dont know what type of conditions they ride under or how hard they ride and how long they've had this set-up. Only time will tell I guess.
Jayred, heres a couple of pics of my bike. I didnt really get to take anything good to make it worth starting a new thread though. You can see my other project in the background that I hope to have done soon. ![]()

Heres a few pics on my project. I used to think I had a fairly radical engine build going on with this project till I joined this site. Its mild compared to many engines Ive read about on here, which is good because I want to keep it reliable, but I believe it'll be wild enough that I dont get my arse handed to me going thru an open field during an XC race. ![]() ![]() ![]() BTW, the garage isnt as clean as it looks. I made sure to try and keep all the garbage out of the pics, lol. |

Thanks man. Its really driving me nuts not to have it completed. I either run into problems or I have to put it aside and work on the other one.
The suspension consists of Exit shocks and ARS-FX long travel arms (and swinger). Made by Z-Broz racing, but I believe there is a site sponser on here that can get them. Yes, those are Hipers as well. |

Ya it is. The other one I race XC as well. Its definately a milder set-up than what I'm working on now. My biggest fear at the moment is I'll end up liking the milder of the two. The last time I rode the wilder one I had a difficult time holding a straight line in the tight stuff as well a keeping the front end down. I blame poor suspension set-up for most of it. Since then though, I have regeared it 14/38 to help with the wheeling problem and obviously I now have a better suspension set-up. I cant wait to try her out!
