Default yfz450 front shocks on ltz400

has anyone put yfz 450 front shocks on ther z400 an if u did wat did u do to make them work

They're way too short. You will tear your ball joints out if you try to use them.

With stock a-arms, I'd go with stock 05+ LT-Z shocks or any year TRX450R shocks. With +2 or +3 arms (non long travel) I would use LTR 450 shocks.

so if i use trx450r shocks i can use stock a-arms an if i use ltr450 shocks i will have to get extended a-arms

You can use either one with either one, but they are better suited as I described. The LTR has wider a-arms stock, the TRX doesn't, so it will keep the shocks somewhat in their intended usage.

ok thank u. will it lower it any if u use the trx450r shocks over using the newer ltz shocks cause i want to lower it alittle cause it stands to tall

Yeah, the TRX450R shocks are a tad shorter. You can also switch to some dual or tripple rate springs to bring it down some more. There's a recent thread that is suggesting that a 400EX spring in the rear is a nice mod, and that lowers it as well.

I agree with that, the Z is a little tall to handle good. Those things should help a lot!
