I think the brake stay has to be the same. At least the mouting locations for the caliper. I did actually consider the Blingstar disk off the LTZ. The calipers share some common parts, but the mounting plate is a little different. If I could run across a LTR caliper for cheap, I might try to mod it.

Runs like a bat out of hell.

Do you mean you "considered the disc off the the LTR" (not LTZ)?

The caliper part is least of my worries and the easiest to fix if needed. My concern would be the diameter of the housing where the rotor guard mounts and the thickness of the guard versus the available area on the housing where the guard will sit (between the actual swingarm and the clip that holds it in place). I like to keep those tolerances tight. More-so the diameter than the thickness.

One more thing. If your bearing carrier is cast, then forget it. You'll bust the carrier.

Woods knows what's up on this deal, I'm very lucky to have one and they are a must! BUT very expensive to make from scratch and time consuming! So try and research everything before you jump off and want one built from scratch a modified Honda would be the way to go if it's possible!

Hey RC. I remember you had texted me some footage on a comparison between the Z brakestay for the LSR swinger and a brakestay off of a Honda, but I don't remember if it was a 400ex or 450r. Anyways, I remember the bolt pattern for the caliper on the Honda piece was in too close to the centerline of the axle, which would probably keep the caliper from bolting up. Going off the top of my head (my Z is still at the GF's), I'm sure I could make an adapter so the Z caliper would work.
I just can't remember if you were able to attach the Honda brakestay to your housing or not.

Yes, I meant the LTR 450. Good catch.

Yeah. I had a chance to get a brand new Blingstar rotor guard for cheap off of a member on another site a while back. Wish I would have done it.
