Default Z400 suspension mods

I have an 04z and all i did was put a big bore kit on it. I hate how high it sits and i want to widen and lower it but i dont know where to start. Ive been searching for the longest time on here and i just cant get enough clarification. I have somewhat of an idea on what i need but i know im missing a few things. What would yall recomend for track use but still have enough ground clearence for trails?

as far as shocks you will get a ton of different responses. I went with a +3 long travel front end and a +2 rear axle. The ride was amazing and handling was greatly improved.

Im gonna check the bank acount during my lunch break so idk about budget yet. But I weigh 150. I have a feeling that installing a wider rear end is gonna be dificult. But honestly im alredy in the hole a good $2k plus the price of buying it so price doesnt scare me anymore.

You say you ride both track and trail. Which do you ride more and how tight are the trails that you ride?

Well last summer i rode mostly trails that are about 4 foot wide at the skinniest points, however i think this summer i am going to go to that track in Henderson so i would say that im going to ride track more.

I'd go the route Biggie suggested then. You can buy some 05-08 front shocks instead of the nicer, aftermarket ones to save you a little cash.
Biggie had also suggested 4+1 offset wheels. You could run the factory 3+2 offset wheels with the +2 a-arms and that will set you at 50" in the front, which is the MX standard. Then if you feel your too tight for the trails you ride you could always buy a pair of 4+1 fronts.

Offset measurement of your wheels. Your front wheels are 5" wide. The stock offset is 3+2, which means 3" of offset on the inside and 2" on the outside. A 4+1 wheel has 4" of offset on the inside of the wheel and 1" on the outside. So if you were to remove your stock 3+2 rims and put on a pair of 4+1's, then you just narrowed your front end by 2" total.
