Idle's fine but boggs when revved

So after replacing the entire rear end on the quad I get everything back together and now it does not run right. The Z will start up and idle perfect but any time i give it gas it just boggs out. There is times when I attempt to drive it that it will bogg then all of a sudden it gets a rush of power and take off and then it will all of a sudden bogg down again a few seconds later. I have replaced the spark plug and drained the gas and replaced it with new gas. I have removed the petcock and checked it for a clog but everything is clear there. i have checked my jets and as far as i can see they look clear. like I have said it starts and idles perfect it just wont rev up.. any suggestions.. thanks

So you replaced the engine with a completely different one right? Are you using the same carburetor?

I would go through the entire carb and replace the petcock with a raptor. It sounds fuel related to me and jets/petcock are cheap and easy to replace.

I think he just replaced the rear end of the quad .. i would check connections for a sjort or rubbing .. Air filter, gas cap , pull the carb and clean it, petcock , fuel lines , coil to see if there are any cracks or breaks an cdi .. Obviously youve already checked most but that issue can only be related to so many things goodluck hope your out riding soon

My bad, I read that post on my phone and somehow got that he replaced the engine. Still sounds fuel related though.

Yes rear end as in axle, carrier, bearing.. etc..

I will pull the carb off again today and clean it up a bit and double check my jets. I will order a new petcock and probably just order new jets as well

Yep it was running fine. I was driving it and it went low on gas so i switched to reserve and drove home and parked it. I ran to the gas station and bought 2 gallons of gas and came back and filled it up. I started it up drove it about 3 miles at a steady speed and then at a stop sign it starts to bogg when I gave it gas. It wasnt bad at that point it would still drive just not go full throttle and I had to keep the revs up and in a lower gear to keep it from bogging down. then when I got to a friends house it wouldn't rev at all it would idle fine but as soon as you give it gas it would just burp. since then I have drained the tank and bought new gas and no change.

You said that you checked your jets, but it's acting like mine did with a plugged main. It started and idled fine, but would die when you gave it throttle.

Good luck.

All u gotta do sometimes to make sure the jets are clear just spray carb cleaner thru the jets after removing them. Really thin wire also works but i didn't have some sometimes so just sprayed cleaner thru them.
