I repalced my coolant before going riding with Coolanol ($10 for a quart), actually my quad fan was barely running at all at the dunes this weekend.
I bought the extended 3 year warranty for $300 when I bought my 04 about a year ago so I'll look at it at the end of this season.
But also my 04 has the single chain adjust bolt, my two friends have early 04's and are still 2 bolt adjusters so I am not sure how to exactly tell a mag cover from the alum cover.

Just think..all these problems now because they tried to save a pound or two on the scales.

Could not have said it better myself NJC.

Just like the swingarm pivot bolt and not reinforce the frame in certain places.

Jap crap I tell you, I am getting sick of it.

I have a friend that just bought a 05 not too long ago and has about 20 hours on it at the most. Looks like he will be taking it to the dealer when it breaks.

I am just letting you guys know that suzuki will not do anything unless you have enough complaints or are just that damn lucky. They may do a recall on it also. I could not even get a new frame after mine cracked after having bought the quad two months before. All they want is your money. Their customer service sucks.

Are your friends sure they have 04's? They may just have 03's left over from the previous year that were knocked down in price so the dealer could move inventory. It says somewhere on the frame what year it is.... I think its the serial number near the shifter, and something like the 8th number.... I just seen this in another post the other day...

Question in fact: What coolant did your dealer use where you purchased it and did he mix with half & half "distilled water" or "tap water". They put them together at most dealers and probably where some of the problems actually derive from. When I got mine I noticed many nuts were "loose' and many more came aloose with riding.
I would discreetly go to the dealer and get the story from the guy or guy's assembling their quads, look at what oils and antifreeze/coolant they are utilizing. This might give some insight to this problem.
What I mean is if the dealership was told by Suzuki to use "X" brand coolant/antifreeze and the dealer sends one of his guys down to Wal-Mart, whats to stop him from buying antifreeze that is not compatible with aluminum?

We should all probably change antifreeze/coolant after purchasing a quad just to insure that this doesn't happen to us. Even if the dealer replaces the cover at no cost, it's still a pain in the neck to take your quad down there and go get it and lose riding time.

Here are two pictures from my 05 Z. I have less than 15 hours on it.

I am just frickin disgusted.

Hopefully when I order my 04 cover, I will get a hefty discount if not for free.

I have to do something quick, my warantee runs out on December 7.

I was also told by my dealer that a rep from Suzuki said that as of right know, it seems like they are isolated circumstances.

EVERYONE with a 05 or 06 Z needs to check this out!!!

I wonder if I would of had the same problem if I would have looked at my YFZ.
It had a Magnesium clutch cover?

I believe 2003Z440 is right! the 03s have the dual chain adjustment. They went to the single bolt with the 04s.

1st things 1st...this needs to become a sticky and we need to make sure all guests and members read this. Until we accumulate enough peeps to have a legitimate bittch...Zuki's gonna sweep it under the rug. Maybe make a post about it with a link to this thread. I don't own an 05 but this seems extremely negligent on they're part.
