Wow - there's a lot of difference of opinion on brake pads. I would like to provide a general comment on those experiencing ultra short brake life, (and I did see a comment on this already) #1 grease the floater pin(s). If the caliper is not allowed to moved freely on that pin(s), your brakes will bind and wear uneven and quick. #2 Galled rotors - if your discs are rough to the touch -( feel like rough sand paper or unpolished metal) they are going to EAT pads no matter what brand they are. The best bet for your sanity and wallet in the the long run is to get new brake discs - I've really never tried to turn down ATV or dirtbike rotors but i doubt it can be done because they are thin to begin with.

i bought a chepo set from motosport (i think) was like 20 a set for the rear, and thus far ive put about 10 hard rides on them and they are still in great shape.. my rotor is in good shape and i greased the floating pins so that may be the reason...

For greasing the pins on the brake calipers can I use any spray grease?

sounds to me like you guys burning brakes need some maintenance done... i raced 18 races (flattrack) and 3 four day trail trips and i took all three brake calipers apart twice... cleaned, greased and new fluid...never had a problem... the 2nd cleaning probably was excesive cause they were still pretty clean but that is 1 part i dont want to fail as i run really hard... another tip is keep the rotor cleaned as much as you can...before i ever put bike up i make sure i clean them off, then your ready for tne next ride...

I read the thread and just wanted to make sure the pins and stuff were good as I bought the bike used.
How do I go about getting the bigger pin out it seems to be stuck and the boot is all torn.
