do you have to do machine work to seat the Kibblewhite valves? or are they drop in and go using stock shims and head?

All you have to do is lap them, they'll seat just fine.

I like using the kibblewhite valves on our head re-builds. They are a very durable valve. Just keep in mind that installing them correctly involves re-cutting the seats, and lapping to ensure a good seal.

So now im confused. Apparently to install them correctly the seats have to be modified as well, is that just a step most people skip? And just lap them and put them in.

I bought mine used and just had to lap them and they seated just fine for me
