On your fcr carb do you see a black plastic cap on top of the carb? Just unscrew your stock choke cable from your stock carb and screw it in your fcr carb. Simple is that. If you need pics I will get my lazy butt off of the couch and take some pics, just let me know

Hot start mod for FCR 39, the little black cap above the chock nob. Remove the cap and carefully pull the spring and plunger out, then take the stock LTZ choke cable and thread the end down through the spring and insert it in the plunger cable attaching hole and reassemble it back into the carb, and tighten it gently until tight. Move your choke cable back and forth and to check it operates smoothly. Your choke is now a hot start, and no longer the choke. This lever is used while starting the engine after motor is very hot and has trouble starting. I believe when plunger is pulled up it allows air to pass through carb to help it clear fuel for easy start. It works well on mine, just make sure it is returned to normal position after starting.

No it is just a cool feature to have and somewhere to put the choke cable, FCR's usually fire right up as long as idle is adjusted.

As soon as you get a bigbore, high compression, and cams without a decompressor it will be a problem. Usually you can still get it to fire up but it takes a little bit of messing with to get it to fire

Mine is for sure harder to start hot since putting on the FCR.
It has never left me stranded though......as Camaro said just takes a bit of messing with.
Blobs gone and the hotstart I have now gets it into reverse so I just have to deal with it.

ASV makes a rotator clamp for the master cylinder that has a hotstart built into it. Not very expensive either if I remember right.

Anyone who has ASV's and would want to upgrade their standard bottom clamp to a hotstart bottom clamp, pm me.

I saw that too. Has to have something to do with the camera angle or something. They are fine.
