Default Z400 missing in 5th gear and now wont run! Help Please

I just got my 2005 LT-Z400 back from the shop for new ring and piston.. Rode it for about 3 hours and it started missing in 5th gear. I started it again and it ran fine, i had it in 5th gear and it wasn't missing or anything then it just quits on me.. Anyone know what the problem is??? HELP PLEASE!

The first thing I would do is take it back to the shop and see if they will cover their work. If it is related to their work, they should take care of it for you.

Probably in the gear selector switch if it's only in 5th gear.
If it was something they did it would happen all the time.

If it's in the gear selector switch it will be fine everywhere but one gear.
And you can take the gear selector apart and clean the contacts, but if you're not careful you will lose the little spring loaded contacts inside.

Find the reverse rev limiter removal thread and follow the instructions, but just clip the wires about 1" back from the CDI plug. So if it doesnt fix it the problem you can swap it back.

I had the same problem with mine in 2nd gear only several months ago and ended up doing the rev limit mod. Everything is fine with no missing or sputters.
