Default fresh motor oil problem

just put my motor back together and it had the same problem before but the oil filter was completely clogged and i thought that would fix it but it didn't.

oil isn't returning to tank.

i replaced the plastic water pump gear and never removed the oil pump.

i ran it for ten minutes or so and the red temp light didn't come on but the bottom end was hot enough to burn you and the top end was normal. the oil is pumping from the tank to the motor correctly but not returning to the tank.
i b lew through the oil passages with air but who knows.

what could cause this?

also

up to half throttle its fine then it acts like it's not gettin enough fuel. it revs quick with a little popping at high rpm when in nuetra,l but it doesn't wanna rev with a load.
gonna clean carb and check petcock but have no other ideas. it's not limited by the reverse thing cause it revs too good when in nuetral.

and

could too much oil in the cases cause oil to go through the black box and back through the carb and cause smoke?
new piston, rings, and cylinder with new valves and oil seals. I don't see how oil could be getting into the cylinder unless its though the intake.
if i let it idle for a second then punch it it blows a heavy quick puff then pretty much quits untill i bring it back down to idle and hit it again. It also does it worse before it warms up. engine doesn't have 20 minutes of run time on it.

What was the oil filter clogged with?

oil isn't returning to tank.

How are you verifying this?

You are going back and forth between oil and coolant circulation. What do you mean "normal" when referring to the temp of the top end? Did you replace the water pump gear or the gear that drives the oil pump?

Double check cam timing, clean carb and petcock like you said.

How much oil did you put in? Are you sure its burring oil and not coolant? Don't run it too much at idle with no load, the rings will not seat properly and you will have to go back to square one.

coolant is flowing and i put exactly 2.25 quarts with a filter change and completely drained everything. you can almost watch it suck the oil out of the tank and it's like it gets hot and sits in the bottom end. also felt like the clutch was slipping at one point possibly because too much oil in the cases

When and what did you do to check if the oil was flowing back to the tank?

bierbaum told me that he had put his somp filter(the one inside the crankcase) the wrong way. He splitted the case and turned it over and now it works!
