Default Battery leak!

While I was cleaning up my plastics and applying the graphics I got I noticed that my battery clamp had loosened up and my battery had gotten really shaken up to the point where it is leaking a little. It has drained out the hole in the compartment and dripped onto my swing arm. It there a chance that this can damage the integrity of my swing arm? Has this happened to anyone else?

I wouldn't worry about that. How much leaked onto it?

it might strip the paint off and leave a rust patch but i wouldnt worry about structural issues. you definitely want to clean it up and get all the acid off.

Thanks for the piece of mind, there is no paint on the swinger to worry about. I just wasn't sure if it would mess up the metal. The stock swinger is aluminum, right? So there shouldn't be a problem with rusting.

Yea aluminum won't rust. You may get some surface corrosion on there, but depending on how long it's been on there, it shouldn't be much to worry about. More than likely get some oxidization , but can be taken care of with some polish.

haha im so dumb....yes stocker is aluminum. no rust, maybe some white or gray oxidation but it will takke a lot of prolonged exposure to actually start eroding the metal. not sure how long it was on there, but i bet its fine even if it did start to pit a little.

throw up some pics if you can.
