The OE seats are not TI, they are hardened steel. Very hard steel. You should check the seating of the new valves, and probably lap them at least, or have it done.

Thats's what I thought, I lapped them in last night I just couldn't get the springs on. I'm going to talk with a machine shop tonight doing the valve job. I have over $500 in parts going into the head whats another $100 for the machining.

Well I went to machine shop last night with all my head parts and we talked for 1 1/2 hours. I'm so happy I did, the guy has 40 year experience in all aspects of engine building. He will be setting up my head and flow benching it. He quoted me $250 for everything, the best part is I'm working out a trade for my shop work for his.

Thanks for all the replys and pictures. I will be making one like KFX posted.

Could you post before and after flow numbers? I would greatly appreciate it.

i just finished putting my head together, and this method work great for me as well props to the man with the needle nose pliers. man the double springs from advantage (DRZE) are real hard to push down to get the keepers in

I can have all my keepers installed in less than five minutes doing this...

I think i used like a 17mm socket. I put a few shop towels on the work bench then put the head on top valves facing down, just like it would be on the quad. put your keepers in the hole on top of the valves. Now take the socket and push down as hard as you can then roll the socket in a circular motion while still holding the pressure down.

there is no way to push down perfectly centered everytime so if you roll it or move side to side in all directions it will let those keepers fall right in. took a while to figure it out but it works like a charm. the shop towels keep the valves closed and sticking up and keeps the presure from damaging them.

to remove the keepers take the same socket...

put the shop towels under the head as stated above and put the socket on top of the valve spring. Use a clothe towel over the socket and smack it with a hammer. pops them right out and the clothe towel keeps them from flying all over your garage.
