Default One mans stock parts is..

I have searched as I don't see any compilation threads. I'm a big fan of free(or cheap!) mods.. As I'm sure any one is too. Especially using stock parts from another quad and using it on yours...I was hoping for some other input and was thinking of doing a small write up with pics of each of these mods...

For instance: YFZ450 front brake calipers
Advantage: 2 piston better stopping ability
Modifications required: trimming stock shield
Average price on eBay $50

400ex air boot
Advantage: more air flow
Modifications required: minor trimming(not sure of that as I have not done this first hand)
Average price: $25

Raptor petcock
Advantage: eliminates factory vacuum nonsense
Modifications required: plug vacuum line on carb
Average price: $20

Etc etc. I would love to see a big compilation of different parts. If I'm not mistake the Honda trx front shocks would fit so on and so forth.

So feel free to add to this any mods you know!

Please excuse my poor grammar in the title. "one man's stock parts are.."

What year yfz450 calipers will fit? I'm looking at some on ebay that say they fit 2004-2007. Does that mean that 2008+ are different, and which years would fit the Z then?

There's a little more to do for the yfz calipers. On my 05', I had to grind the caliper bracket some to fit.

I just picked up a set of 07's and read there is minimal grinding required. I bought new pads I'm just waiting for some spare time to install them

The yfz calipers are all the same, but not too sure about the spindles on the z. I had the head of a spindle bolt blocking my calipers from seating properly. I had to grind the brackets down on the calipers slightly, not too much though. You'll see when you go to install.

The DRZ stock flywheel swap...I am in the middle of this one , but I hear it'll be good!
Saw one on ebay(still there ,too) out of Vancouver,Washington.Guy wants 99.99 obo. Note, I offered him $70 and he wouldn't take it.Found another on Kijiji in New Brunswick,Canada...got it for $50.
Also heard that only putting in 2 or 3 stiffer clutch springs is pretty good, but I only heard this...I would just spend the little xtra and do 'em all.

there was a post the other day about a 400ex rear spring. You could add that to the list.
400ex Rear Shock spring
Lowers ride height.
(I didn't read all the posts, so i'm not for sure if it is worth doing or not)
