Default Why Aren't These On This Site?

Don't get me wrong in any way while reading this. Let me first just say that this forum is great but it would be nice to have a few things that many other forums have. First of all, I think this site would benefit from a Rep option on posts. This is for if someone makes a post that you approve of, you can give them a certain amount of positive or negative Rep depending on how much you have. This would help users on here show that they appreciate others for their helpfulness or let them show that they disapprove if they act out of place. This could be shown right under their Username in a thread post. Also, I think it would be nice to have a Feedback option under their username. That way if a deal goes good, the buyer or seller can give a percentage of Feedback based on how the deal went. That way you could see how trustworthy people are just by looking under their username on a post. I don't know about you guys but I have looked in the Feedback topic section maybe once. lol The only other thing that I would LOVE to see on this site is a Chat. Many Forums have them and it allows MUCH quicker communication which can mean getting a problem solved quicker. It would also draw members a little bit closer and result in a tight community of members who would more willingly work together to help one another. The rest of the site is AWESOME but if it had these things, it would be that much better. Thanks, Paul.

I've been on and off here for a long time, and it seems like a pretty tight knit group of people who are willing to work together and help each other. It's one of the few forums where there's not a bunch of trolls running around starting arguments.

There's moderators on here that take care of the "rep". If they thing someone's out of line, rest assured it'll be corrected.

The feedback could use some work, such as the feedback system on pbnation, if you're familiar with that. Fortunately it's not a huge forum that has hundreds of sales a day, so it's easy to keep track of, and even easier to search.

Chat would be cool, and i'm sure it'd be a welcome addition.

My opinion, and only my opinion is if something's not broken, don't fix it .

By the way, welcome to the forum!

Thanks for the welcome and yeah it does seem like it is pretty tight here. While I've been "lurkin'" around I have found only one member who was unnecessarily rude to a newer member. Usually on fourms thats all it is. But on here I've gotten many welcomes and people are always trying to help each other from what I see. Seems pretty laid back and I like it here. But yeah a chat would be pretty sweet because there is always members on.

Best advice being new is to speak factually, don't give people answers unless you're sure you know what you're talking about. I'd hate to see someone blow their engine b/c of some bad advice. On the other hand, it's advice, and should be researched before used.

There's a ton of great info on here, and there's also some pretty bad info. It's up to you to decipher what's good and what's bad. Usually someone will get called out on wrong info.

Other than that, enjoy, and if you ever need help, feel free to pm.

Yeah sorry about that octane thing I was told by like 10 people on another forum that the higher the octane the cooler and cleaner your engine ran. I do know that the higher the compression the higher the octane you need or it will predetonate.

Thanks flattracker. Yeah I fabricate foot peg widening kits, boot cleats, probably radiator shrouds, grab bars, and I just did a custom airbox lid out of spun aluminum and some sealing foam.

Agree, and it's also why the rep system DOESN'T work- posters are so worried about their reps that they become information repeaters and jump on every question in order to become one of the big rep guys

Yeah I wouldn't mind seeing a Do It Yourself section either. That would be a big help.

Most of the best info can be found by searching older posts. Once you learn how to use the advanced search it really helps.
There were alot of really savvy people when it came to these things that are no longer around.
Let's face it the Z is falling away in favor of newer faster quads.......and with it go the guys that really knew how these things tick.

But..........don't get me wrong. There's still tons of good people and good info to be had.

Looking at your soon to come mods, I wouldn't bother with the Athena. There are too many reliable cheaper alternatives on the market now. Save $150 and use it to buy the FCR carb at the same time....you'll want that on there to run with the 450's.
