Default Edit original post

I think I use to be able to go back to my original posts and edit them a few days or weeks later. That doesn't seem to be an option any more.

Am I mistaken or did that use to be an option?

I think this would especially be a good option in the classified "for sale" and "wanted" sections when multiple items are listed.
Being able to go back and edit an original post and mark items "sold" or "found" would help us to look at someone's original post and not look through multiple pages of posts to see what has been sold, etc.

Regards, Ken

Happens to me also. I think after a certain time frame, the ability to do that goes away. Only thing I can think of. Would be nice to ALWAYS have that option.

Any chance we could get a reply from one of the administrators?

I can't edit mine when I'm on my iPad but when I go to the same post on my computer I can edit it. Weird!

Haha oh geez ... Get ready for the great apple/ android -apple/pc debate. I can edit them on my iPhone right after I post so it's not apple. Only thing I can think of is you only have a certain amount of time to update before that feature is lost.

Im always on either my macbook air, iMac or iPhone. Never had any issues, nor do I need a virus/adware scan to keep them in top condition .

Very strange..
When I first posted this, I tried to edit a post I made about a week prior. The edit option wasn't there.

After seeing the posts above about PC vs Mac, I tried both. I have a PC at home and iPad for the road. I opened the site on my iPad and low and behold, I could edit posts I've made since Jan 1, 2012. Any post made prior to that (Oct, Nov, Dec of 2011), the edit option wasn't there.
Went back to my PC and did the same thing. Low and behold, I could now edit posts made since Jan 1,2012, but unable to edit any posts prior. Again, I started this thread because I couldn't edit a thread I made a week prior. Now it seems like I have the option go to back about 1 month.

So I'm guessing it's a time limited option set by the administrators??

I'd really like the option to be able to go back about 4 months (unlimited time frame would be preferred).
Case in point..
I made a post in the "Wanted" section back in October for a list of items needed.
Many have viewed it over the past couple months and I've slowly obtained most everything I've asked for. As a courtesy and to keep it simple, I would mark the items "found" in the original post as they were obtained. I recently picked up one of the last items needed from a member that read that post and shot me a PM. Would have been nice to be able to back to that thread and mark it "found".

I also think this should be an option to help sellers (and those that view their threads). We've all seen posts with a list of items for sale and had to wade through a page (or two or three) to see what has been sold and what is still for sale.

Regards, Ken

Just wanted to stir the pot, lol.

I own apple/android/windows products and all are great for their own reasons. Well, I might not go as far as saying windows is great.

Very good points. I have a for sale thread over a year old on another forum. I part out motorcycles, and as I add new parts and sell others I edit the original post so its all right there.

Not yet. Macs aren't immune from viruses, it's just that rarely anyone bothers creating them. Why would they bother writing virii for computers that represent a measly 4% worldwide marketshare?

PS: Mac Virus - Yes, it's True. Macintosh Viruses Exist.

I know they exist (9 since 1994).... I just have a lot less to worry about. I ran pc's for 10 years and dealt with all their issues. I've been on mac's for 4 years and never had a problem with them. I certainly don't miss re-formatting!
