Just gotta say I love my Z.... I often find myself thinking about selling it and getting a 450.... but I really love it. It does everything I want it to do and it just feels "right".... never gives me issues....
I rode my buddies' quads today and over the last few weekends for little test drives... LTR450, Honda 450r, 400 ex and I gotta say I like my 09 Z the most! The last couple weekends everyone seems to have some kind of issue w/ their bike and mine is the only one that just keeps ticking w/o issue no matter how much we beat them! Yeah, the Z really is a great quad! I would recommend one to anybody, and i'm really glad I got mine because it's made me become more of a Suzuki guy... As long as you keep up on the maintenance, and take care of it, you can beat on it as much as your little heart desires and she'll take it every time without fail.

It consistently gets hammered on and just keeps going.... The 09 Z seems like it handles soooooooo much better than my 05 Z did.... the GT Thunder shocks were a big part of that for sure... but it really is a great, reliable SOLID bike...puts a big smile on my face every time out... and it definitely cured my snowmobiling (lack of) blues today!

I am with you 100%. I am always looking at CL to see what could be, but can't ever bring myself to doing it. I always say If I ever decide to upgrade it will only be to a newer Z like a 10-11 or whatever year I decide to switch. It always seems a the end of the day I am the only one that continues to keep riding un blemished...

I traded it a while ago for the KingQuad....
** Edit... wait-Im assuming your talking about my buddies LTR.... About a month back, 3rd gear blew up and took out everything it could w/ it... ended up being over $2k at the dealer.... he even pulled the motor himslef and just picked it up..... today, it won't idle at all... literally you take your thumb of throttle for a sec. in a tight spot and it dies!! All you hear is my buddy starting his bike every 10 seconds.... he also blew a tire ad lost a rim due to lugnuts coming off and holes got completely egged out! My buddy's 400 tagged a tree and fugged up his axle bad..... chain got rear loose and is grinding into hi aluminum skid... However, I did jump a big angled log today and put me right into a tree.. Fortunately i hit it head on and the bumper did its job and took the hit to save the frame.... bumpers fugged, but that easy!

And not to mention the 09 looks similar to the LTR, only you have reverse through!

haha... yea he hates that.... he has awful ground clearance w/ 18" rears and at 50" wide, hes hung up on trees that I'm breezing through.... and the reverse is just the icing on the top in those tight spots and wrong turns! Haha.... but then he gets me in the 3-lap race around the pits.... tough to hang w him then.....

I wouldn't sell or trade my KFX400 for another quad! I would just buy another 400 or 450 (carberated) and ride them both

I love mine as well...i recently needed tires in a hurry for my 8in rims which no one has down here! And could only find cheap chinese 22x11 tires and thought man this looks funny. I went out riding and turned out the bike did awesome even in the mud, i was keeping up with my buddys BIG RED atc. Super suprised at how well its balanced and puts power down, i also love the fact its water cooled not air.
here are the tires lol ![]() and here was the pit, i was moving mine aside to make way for the atc to pull the red and yellow honda out. I went str8 through the pit just leaning back and feathering the throttle i was smiling like a kid on christmas! ![]() i love my Z! I hope to get a nice utc and keep my Z out of the mud, as i know its not made for it and we hit that pit cuz well we had to in order to keep going lol |
