i use the staurolite products. they have a handful of different grits DuPont Coarse Staurolite Sand

i have a 200lb pressure blaster and it requires 10 cfm @ 90psi. the sears blaster is a bit smaller so you may not need 10cfm, but CFM is the important rating, not PSI. your blaster should come with a recommendation. the first 4 compressors i used didnt work because they didnt have the power or 10CFM@90psi.

good luck

you can blast anywhere, but i would recommend capturing the media somehow, otherwise it will cost a fortune. you can build a cabinet relatively cheap

Should I just get the portable one that will save me cash and use a 5 gal bucket or the sears one ?

the 5 gallon deal might work great, or it may give you trouble feeding the sand. i would take the gamble on it, because you can modify it to work just as good as the sears one. i bet they use an identical gun so as long as you get it to feed sand and supply it with pressure the results will be the same.

Okay I posted this up on ES2 also and a guy on there recommended it to me so I guess it works good for him.
I'm going to post up pics of my compressor. It should be fine though.

Let me know how that works out. I've got a 70 gallon compressor that blasts out 14 cfm at 140 psi, so I think i'm good with that. If it works out for you, I may just get one.
