Pretty sure the subframe/grabbar/fender mounts and the swingarms switched about halfway through the year as they ran out of old parts.

Swingarm got stronger at some point. I dont know if it was 05+ or 06+ but there are some extra welds where the extruded tubing sticks up into the cast. The welds are on top and bottom, a couple inches from where the cast and extruded material meet. I have seen this on all 06+, but I have not looked at an 05.

Subframe changed in 04

The cams, clutch, and frames also changed 05+

I want to say wheel bearings also changed for 05?

Another honorable mention is that the 05 DVX is still an 04 DVX. It did not recieve any updates untill 06.

The cdi was updated for the TPS on the 2005-08 models.

Didnt the subframes receive another update in 2005 (extra bracing)?

Some of the plugs changed in 2005. Right now I can think of the tail light and cdi.

the head cover and clutch side cover changed in 05-06 to magnesium and then went back in 07+ due to the corrosion failures.the axles on the 04+ changed due to a unusally weak axle in the 03's.the limited edition models were also offered from 04 and on.

I think it was the "37mm" carb that was not real. Im pretty sure the cams were. I went and looked them up, and it is showing the same intake cam for an 03 and a 06, and it does not show an exhaust cam at all, like you cant even get one... That was not really any help. They may have just superceeded the new cams to the old machines so they dont have to carry as many parts also. It is kind of weird that you cant get a stock exhaust cam though.
