Default Z without a title

I have a 2007 Z that i bought off my boss a couple years ago and he cant find the title. i want to sell it but not sure how much i should be worried about not having the title. It has hmf exhaust, nerf bars, 6 pack rack holeshots on the rear and also a set of Paddle tires on wheels. I was thinking of asking 3000.

let me know what you all think!

Sorry these are the only pics i have of it right now. gonna take it out tomorrow in the day light and take some good photos of it

It is really clean and since i have had it i have changed the oil every 10 hours. synthetic. i really try to keep it nice!!

If the title is still in his name he can file for a lost title and then sign it over to you and you can get a title in your name. Its not to big of a deal to not have a title but some buyers will prefer a title just as a peace of mind thing lol. When i was looking at z's i looked at one and was going to buy it even though the guy didnt have a title but he agreed to sign a bill of sale, but when i went to find the VIN it was all scratched off so needless to say i didnt buy that one lol.

NO the VIN is there and plain as day. and the lost title thing would have been done a long time ago but my boss never put it in his name before he lost it. he had it for 2 weeks and thought it was too fast so i bought it and ask him about it but now he cant find it. i dont want to make a big deal out of it with him cuz i do work for him but if i cant sell this thing for what i think its really worth then i dont know what else to do

I usually dont either but a scratched off VIN is a no-go in my book, but if there are two quads for the same price and in the same condition and one has a title im going to go for the one with the title.

I don't have a title for my Z, but I do have a bill of sale with both of the previous owners on it (the first owner, and his friend who was the second owner that i bought it from.)

I'm a bit worried that when I go to sell my Z that i'm not going to get as much money for it without the title.. I know that my quad definitely isn't stolen. Do you guys think that I should be worried about it?

Here in missouri it is technically "illegal" to sell something without a title but that doesnt really stop anybody.

Yeah Missouri is weird about it. They say you need to register your bikes to ride on Public OHV parks yet they never check. I don't really think the title sould affect the sale price of the quad. It would be different if you were going to get it street leagal or license it but we can't. I would't go for a bike with a scratched off VIN.

Yeah. i have never ever had a problem with out having the title and the vin is clear as day on the frame and i know my boss and im sure hes got the title somewhere but right after i bought it they moved to a rental while they built a house and then after they moved into their house i started asking about it and he says he cant find it since the move. I am kind of pissed about it but what do you do without loosing my job!? if it were anyone else i would have gotten an attorney. but i look at it as a mistake and now i know not to do business in the workplace! ( if that makes since)lol

Here in NC you don't need a title just a bill of sale I bought my z from a dude that bought it from another dude that lied to him saying its a 05 when it was a 03 the kid I bought it from told me its a 03 but I had to show him but its a great z I love it and titles to me don't mean anything in the State anyways

A lot of it depends on the state also. In Michigan you need a title to register it for trails ect..but in WI you don't need anything..depends on who is going to buy it..if they plan on trail riding and insuring it you might need a title. If they just want something to beat around on and track it no title really needed.
