Here's what I do with the go pro.
I record in 720 the r1 setting since I have a slow computer it takes forever to do all this but it's free.
Download Format Factory its free. Once you have that I convert the mpg4 video to AVI using the mpeg4 xvid output. Once it's converted I edit it through windows movie maker and save it as a .wmv file. That format works fine for me for playing in Windows Media player and uploading to youtube. But if you like you can run it back through Format Factory and convert it to what ever file format you prefer.

I like Sony Vegas. It has a bit of a learning curve but you can do about anything you can imagine.

I use Adobe After Effects CS5.5, good for making videos in slow motion when used with the Twixtor plug in. To get the best results when using a Go Pro I believe we ran on the setting 3 or 720p @ 60 fps. On the GP Hero 2 you could film @ 120fps which would be better for slow motion but the resolution isn't HD anymore and it will come out rather small. Forget about viewing it fullscreen with that setting.

By the way how is the Hero 2?, I really want to get one. Is it worth it or should I get a normal Go Pro hero for quite a bit less?

Well that Gopro that's clamped to my buggy right now may take some videos but after reading this I don't think anybody will ever see them...........sounds too complicated for me. Hell I was pretty proud of myself just to post up a pic here and there.

Ha, I just got the Hero 2 and was going to post the exact same topic... Nice work

My computer is proving a little slow for 1080. It will play them fine, but using windows movie maker is proving difficult, but it's my first time using this version. I'm not really liking it so far. I love the camera, I just need a faster computer, internet, and software.

Today, I played helmet cam frisbee with my dog Digger (yes named after Digger Doug Gust) and blasted around on the Z for a while with it on. The helmet cam frisbee is a little hard to follow, because Digger has the camera, not me. The video quality is amazing with the helmet cam. I just hope I can send it out in as good of quality.

Don't really know yet. She didn't know I needed a memory card too, so I still need to get one. I have been playing with vids that I already had loaded, and using "Video pad Video editor" Seems simple enough for what I need. Not bragging but other than the 3D version it seems to be the top of the line camera.....this year anyways.

OKay scratch that video editor I was using. It was working fine earlier and then started crashing, so it gone bye bye now.

So I have been up listening for reindeer, its about 3:00am here in KC. I ended up trying out the Windows Movie Maker which was real easy. I was just goofing with some exsisting videos I had, and came up with this....My first Movie - YouTube

It has a great clasic soundtrack to go with it, "Eagles" for the first half and "Allman Brothers" for the second,. but you tube wouldn't post the audio. It said something about copyright infringment. I wonder if its cause I pulled the tracks off my ITunes? Wonder if I should use like free mp3 to pull my audio from?

I use sony vegas movie studio 11. Its abit harder to learn to use then most but u can do alot with it. It handles every kind of file. Tons of tutorials on youtube and around the net to help u learn fast.

Any of the sony vegas editors or adobe editors are prob the best for pc. U can download free trials of just about all editors so try out some dif ones and see what u like.
