87 suzuki lt 80

I bought this atv for my son, the guy said it has low compression what could be the problem... Also if i want to move it from a 2 stroke motor to a 4 stroke will it work

In a 2 stroke - low compression means its time for a piston and rings or least rings which will bring the compression back as long as the head an cylinder are in good shape.

My educated guess on the motor swap for this bike wouldn't be worth the time and money.
