I think the difference in 4ply or 6ply is probably negligible, the important thing is maxxis is a good tire and the rubber compound is of good quality which will mean more for tread wear and puncture resistance. If it were me, i'dstay with the 4ply because they're a little lighter....my 2 cents.

I always run 6 ply for trails and im waiting to burn up a pair of razr mx tires so i can get dunlops 6 ply mx tire. but to me to 6 ply is a must it lasts a lot longer and is way more puncture resistant.

i say return them and get the 6ply, i run 4ply fronts and am always paranoid of blowing a tire(i bring a kit with me all the time). when these do blow out or wear out im getting 6ply fronts for sure.

update:
i sent the tires back to exchange for the 6ply. i got two flats in a row the last two times i rode. so i figured i better go with the 6ply. they charged me $20 more. i almost told them to send me the razr 2's but they wanted over $70 more for them.. |
