My girlfriend bought me a set of razr 1's for xmas.

but they are 4ply.

i do mostly trail riding.

If she won't be offended I would consider exchanging them back for 6ply. But than again I don't know for sure that 2plys make that big of a difference.

I think it does. Depends on how often you need to jump on the road to get to your next riding sport.

6 ply is a better tire but it is heavier. If the trails you ride on are "normal" trails a 4 ply would be fine. If you ride on technical trails....jagged rocks, lots of tree roots that may be sticking out of the ground with sharp edges then I would go with the 6 ply.

Now having said all of that if I'm buys tires and my choices are 4 or 6ply I'm buying 6 ply. Just remember if you do send them back make sure you don't hurt your gf feelings. She got you a really cool present.

Yeah and the time and effort she put into getting you quad parts. My girlfriend would not know what type of parts to buy.

If you return them, you will get socks next year! Run them and replace them when they are shot. She may say it's ok and it may be but she will not feel like she did good.
