Yep just looked at my stock ones in the garage, same ones you have. before you pull the head there's an easier way to check and see if the valves are sealed, put some gas down the ports and see if it stays at the same level. Since you don't have the cams installed the level should not drop meaning the valves are sealed. After that just suck the gas out. Time it up like my pics and in the manual on page 42 section 3 and check your valve clearance .010mm to .020mm on the intake and .020 to .030mm on the exhaust in section 2 of the manual. When you time it make sure the timing mark is lined up and the slack is pulled taunt from the crank to the exhaust cam without moving the crank. I've messed up timing lots of times in motors not getting that slack out and being a tooth off.

The gasket is supposed to be three parts. Looks pretty good in there, nice and clean. Still sounds like timing to me, since you've got it apart might as well make sure those valves are sealing for piece of mind. Do you have a new head gasket, you might be able to get away with reusing it with copper seal stuff but they tend to leak once you remove them. Good thing is it doesn't look like you've had any piston valve contact either. One tooth off and it can happen with some aftermarket stuff. LOL on the plus side at least you know what's in there now.

I run all the stuff in my signature. I haven't rode a stroked motor yet. I can keep up with the 450's most of the time but I'm always alittle behind. Yours should have alot of torque in the bottom to mid range perfect for trail riding. You'll get it running I'm sure of that. Get the timing and the clearance straight you should be good to go.
