You have a stock carb? Last I remember there isnt a slow jet? Unless you mean pilot. Do some research on mikuni carbs and how they work if your not sure and check the stickied jetting thread posted here.

Your pilot could go up to a 25 but you could also open up your fuel screw some. Don't touch the other (slow?) jet. The main jet should be way bigger like a 150 dyno but should have nothing to do with your hesitation in the first 25% of throttle.
Database has every scenario in it.........what's not to understand. Mods and jets.
Here's some info for you. Check out google sometime, it's pretty cool

Quick Jetting Guide

Well the dynojet link don't work but if you go to their site and find the instructions on 03-04 Z400 you will see it. As for the main at 150 might be big as I just realized that you only have a slip-on. Either way a 124 is too small in my opinion..........unless you put the lid back on.

Wait a second...I just realized something. It wont help you really at all in the first 25% with your hesitation, but if your running a 124 dynojet for your main, that is about a 115 mikuni jet. Stock IIRC for the main is a 130 mikuni jet. You went way smaller....you need to go larger.

Try changing the needle height. Go down one slot on the clip.

You'd have no problem leaving it stock. If you want to change it go to a 25

I was/iam runinnin a 155 main dyno/fmf with 2.5 turns on the screw mid clip on the needle with different spring....lil rich but pulled like a S.O.B....no lid, modded stock exhaust, and K&N...That was @2300--2500 ft elevation in the winter time as i only Ice race on the 155 went to a 150 for warmer temps always ran great!!....never touched pilot or screw only main as temps changed,Hope this helps as I am about to get into the FCR tuning which is a whole lot more involved than the basic MIC........GOOD LUCK!!
