Default phantom compression issues 99 suzuki ltf 250 ATV Quad runner.

I am new to this forum, but not to forums in genreal. Primarialy an I Boater. However, I have an issue with my atv so here I am.

Yes I have read, for hours, all the post that I can find on this forrum and others that deals with this issue.

I have a 99 suzuki ltf-250. she was running fine untill one day after about 30 minutes it died and would not restart untill the rectafier cooled off. so of course I replaced it. Same thing would run for about 30 then die. would restart after the rectafier cooled. Run another 30 and die..... I let it set for about a year due to finances.

Started working on it a couple of weeks ago. Cleaned the carb, jets, float seat replaced gaskets and orings foat is set. Idol screw set at 2 1/4 turns out. After the the third try cleaning the carb I decided to check the compression 60 psi ok well that means the valves are to tight. Pulled the plug set the valves .003 intake, .005 exaust. Compression test 130. Started it and it ran like crap poping backfiring through intake and exaust. Let it set for about a week and checked the compression again 60psi. rechecked the valves maby i screwed up nope they are right. So I did a leak by test to see where the comprssion loss is. put 80lb in the cylendar no leaks period not at the rings or the valves. repeated with 40 psi same result. What the cr**. Now when i try to start it it will only fire randomly and wont stay running for long. So i checked the spark good strong blue 1/4 in spark.
Could this be caused by weak valve springs? bad valve seats? Compression release? (btw there is about 1/8th inch play in the lever before it start to engage the valve. When it engages it stays open for two revolutions of the crank then snaps shut quite forcefully. I have a bruse to prove it.)

A local motorcycle mechanic said the problem with the rectafier getting hot might be related to the stator over charging What? I thought it was all or nothing with stators. and the rectafier converted the ac 36-40v to dc 12 v. That is for you to answer.

The primary problem is the compression. Why would it change after running for a few minutes and sitting for a week? Could it have inverted a valve back firing? if it did that why will it hold compression on a leak by test?

Oil is clean, petcock is clean tank is clean fuel is clean, fuel pump works as does the diaphram in the carb.

What are your thoughts?

Went out and tested it again got 90psi compression.

Ambient temperaturs have been about the same upper 60s.
