FS: 1987 LT250r Quadracer
Another project I hoped to restore, but it has to go....
 1987 LT250r.... 4-lug 24-spline rear-end (early '87) The good: Very Clean straight frame Works shocks Newer Maier plastics in great shape (1 of the front fenders has crack near mount, see pics) Original Gold wheels, all in great shape FMF Pipe/silencer It starts and runs! (also on 2-year old gas!) New OEM reeds New OEM airbox New OEM thumb throttle Nerf bars ITP holeshot fronts in good shape The bad: Case save boss broken (fixable by competent welder) Carrier drilled out... will need a new one Dry-rotted rear tires Frame is straight and very clean.. honestly one of the cleanest I've come across.... Motor may have small air leak somewhere I believe (possibly base gasket)... when hitting the throttle it takes a moment to idle down again, but it may also be the jetting is a little off. I'm sure the carb could also use a cleaning/rebuild since it has been sitting for 2 yrs but I would go through the motor before running it to be safe and sure. I only ran it long enough to make sure it ran, but didn't want to push it if it has an air leak somewhere. Previous owner said the motor had a new piston/rings/hone done by dealer 2 yrs. ago, but only rode it 3-4 times after that (about 10 hours). I don't know the bore for sure, previous owner thought it was .20 over..... This would make a great complete resto for someone, or just fix a few things and ride as-is. I really wanted to restore this, but wifey said I gotta sell one to keep one. 5 is my max. and she is counting :-( Asking $850.... may entertain interesting trades, but would prefer cash... No title, will come w/ bill of sale.... Located in Marlborough, CT.... this really is a great project for someone to get into! A fun 2-stroke old school ride....
