Default 250r cranks

i building 3 250rs for my dad's buddy. one 85 and two 87s. i mainly build banshees so i have a knowledge on inner workings of quad motors (can have a motor off the frame, spit, crank and tranny out and all back together and running in abut 4 hrs). i use to have an 87 but never did the crank, just top end. now here my question, will a hot rod crank for an 88 work in the 87 motor? i know the 85 and 86 were a completely different motor (carb, reed setup, 5-sp, no power vavle, etc) but to the best of my knowings on these 87-92 are basically the same beside small changes here and there. also its going to need a piston. it currently has a wiseco 1.50 mm. what would be the next size up or is it to big and going to need a sleeve? thanks for any info

We have hotrods cranks in stock for the LT250R... they list from 88-92 only.

i do have a rod/rebuild kit for the 87 cranks... but nothing for the older models.

as for the piston

we also carry a 2mm over piston from wiseco... so you have 1 more bore left if you have 1.5mm bore now.
