Default Lt250r pix

now

still in the process of my resto, got it 3 months ago like this...

aside from looks it wasn't running, the brakes didn't work ect lol. I got it semi running but it was white smoking so I have the cases split now so I can reseal and gasket the entire motor, fixed the rear brakes and I'm going to be *attempting* to retro fit z400 front end on it (are equal to +2"s for the lt250r) *not a bolt on and I won't have info really on how it works until it's done and I can say it DOES indeed work* on it with yfz dual piston calipers ect and probably run my chrome rims once it's all said and done but I'm laid off and selling other toys to fund the rebuild in total so it will be a while. but I'm possibly getting the brakes ect in the next week or so since I can afford it. arm setup I need to locate, I see them for $150 on ebay, but I also need to find +1+0" uppers to make it bolt on from my research. thus far more on that in my thread later. got alot going on so we'll see how soon I can get it all together... here's some pix of my chrome rims...

I ran them on my 450 for a while for the hell of it, track and a little trail and alot of street LOL, wife will be running the 250 alot so I don't think she'll bust them up too bad and I don't really care. got them back when I was working if I wasn't laid off and in escrow on a house I'd just outright buy the 250 parts I need/want LOL. sh!t happens and you just gotta roll with it

yeah, it currently is missing the motor which is in pieces on my back porch and in the closet LOL

also need new front shocks if I do my z400 arm swap and I need upper and lower chain rollers and a slider, basically I'm bringing it back from the scrap heap LOL. so far how it sits right now, I cleaned up alot of the polished stuff and fixed the rear brakes and changed the rusted out aluminum rear brake stay to a billet piece, put new renthal grips on and other show stuff lol. oh, and I cleaned and charged the rear works shock. fronts leak and need full rebuild but with the front swap I think I'll wanna add yfz length revalves maybe I'm considering adding a lowing kit not to lower the bike, but to relocate the shock mount so I can fit longer shocks so I can keep my bolt on swap going LOL. I don't weld and my closest welding buddy I'm iffy about as he's always stoned lol. plus I'm not positive I wanna weld on my frame yet. but I suppose that's the right way to do things...

oh, I never got to mods LOL, maier silver plastics, renthal bar/new renthal grips, pro design kill switch, pro design cool head, Boyesen rad valve w/carbon reed, works resi shocks all around, durablue axle, answer roost boost, had a pwk39mm but I put a 38mm airstriker on it, FMF pipe with silencer, AC nerfs, bumper and grab bar, think that's most of it... IF I can pull this front swap and motor rebuild off, I'm going to be getting another 250r which I'm going to put a 500r motor into and doing a front end swap on it as well but since stock z400 is +2 arms I'm going to move to +1 z400 arms long travel and it will = +3 long travel arms on the LT250r frame then I need to figure out the rear to add travel/better shocks. 87 frames are easier for the lt500 swap and I know where I can get one cheap. it has no plastics tho or front brakes and needs alot of other work, so it will need to be practically free for me to go through with the hybrid build on it.

ordered a bunch of stuff, most of it came in but not all of it. I have crank bearings, a head gasket and a rear chain slider on order, as well as z400 front and rear hubs and spindles I ordered from a member here (will probably be a while to say the least) I still NEED to order a piston kit, a arm bushings and shocks when I find some nice ones in the proper length

the stuff that DID come in so far are my yfz450 calipers and master cylinder, my z400 +1" long travel houser arms, my polaris outlaw braided dual brake lines from master cyl to each caliper and my OEM cyl base gasket for my motor rebuild

also had to ordered a new banjo bolt as the pitch was 1.0 and I need 1.25 pitch

also got an alba gas cap (z400/ltr450 ones fit perfect)

and a pair of alba chain rollers with the anodized caps. the lower one I had to belt sand down to fit in there I really should've got one without a cap for the lower roller really.

I like the alba gas caps, they're a really good buy imo, I have one on both my quadracers the 450 and 250

Definatly sweet machines, I love that 2 stroke power band. I just wish the Z's had it. Thats what I had before I bought my Z. I should of kept it cause the value of those machines are crazy.

they were made from 85-92, and after 86(87-92) they changed some stuff up like a arms and motor and swinger and the frame in certain spots

put my motor back together but 4th gear is screwed up, it runs like a mofo everywhere but 4th (seems like it's missing teeth or some weird crap and it jumps around like the axle is walking left right left when in 4th)

got my new seat cover may put it on tomorrow after work, we'll see. put my renthal bar pad on and am considering gettin some beadlocks and just go with yfz front hubs not sure how but I wanna get yamaha rear hubs as well maybe run a 24 spline aftermarket axle instead and run banshee hubs lol lotta work tho for yami hubs. but I have a line on some nice blue/silver beadlockers in yamaha pattern. 200 for all 4 new...

here's how my bike sits currently.

gonna just order new blue nets as the dye didn't stick LOL, $25 so what the hell. also gonna tear into it again and see if I can figure out what's up with 4th or just replace it. here's a quick vid of this afternoons warmup before I took it to the streets...

I had a bad morning as I borrowed the neighbors buell blast 500 to go take my motorcycle ridden test (my bike ain't legal since I can't get insurance til I have a license) his rear blinker is broken so I couldn't even use it after I rode the pos down there... another guy taking the test was nice enough to loan me his bike, AND jacket (didn't realize I'd needed a jacket for the test I had a borrowed helmet actually from my neighbor as well LOL) long story short, I failed by one point as I was uncomfortable and put my foot down on a turn and lost a point. decided I'd go register my bike. I got it 3 months ago and didn't do it as I'd just got a house THEN got laid off and had no money. plus I didn't know I didn't need insurance to get the blue safety paper that's needed for registration... was given a reciept last time that it would be $226 for back taxes. I'm like eh, whatever... go back today (forgot it was cash only) so had to leave to get cash... $320 just in case... go back, changed their policy and now I have to pay $376 WTF.. at this point I'm getting upset so came home and ripped my 250 around the block and came home and did some doughnuts in my back yard (I own the place so could give 2 sh!ts lol) decided hell, I'm gonna go shoot some rounds out at the range to vent more and MAYbe go back with more cash and register my bobber project 83 virago 750... so here's a couple quick vids. there were a couple guys at the range so I had one of them run my video phone to catch some of the steam being blown off LOL. it was fun... gotta clean my baby tonight tho now for sure...

don't mind, I thought I was having jetting issues so have a really lean pilot jet in there thus the rpms taking a little while to drop after revving it.

will get some better pix/vids up of the 250 eventually, but for now I'm just gonna get new nerf nets and put the new seat cover on and wait til I'm not lazy to pull the motor apart again and check the tranny...

oh, these are the beadlocks I'm thinking of getting but like I said, all yamaha pattern only...

tires I'm thinking maybe some bear claw 23x10x10 rears fronts still undecided... maybe even just mudlites like I had on my 660 raptor, I had ITP SS112s on that bike. raptors match mudlites tho, I think the bearclaws would look sick on the 250 LOL

of all my bikes I've sold I miss that one the most and sometimes consider selling my ltr450 for a raptor 700 or even the 250.. but I DO love the 250. I got so much more money into the 450 and still like the 250 LOL. my buddy has a zilla and a spare motor, he's looking into a zilla roller for me as well and will sell me his spare motor for $200 (needs to be rebuilt but it's basically a larger version of the 250 motor which I already split the block on and did basic rebuild ie crank bearings and seals)
