i owned a 88 CR500... what a sick bike....
power wise the same
power to weight... ovisally the CR
i weight 130 - 135lb....
im a lil guy
both bikes tryed to rip my arms off more than once!
i could not start the CR with out a trick.... and it only worked 1/2 the time
i had to take out the plug and pore gas in the head.
but my LT.... pull the choke and 2 kicks 3 at most!!

well tomorrow i am gona run through a speed trap the cops set a few days ago on my road.
i want to see how fast my bike is!!

Typically only the 87's blow head gaskets. Suzuki fixed the problem in 88 adding 7 head bolts instead of 6.

It's actually a VERY easy fix for the 87 though, all you have to do is install 10mm head studs. that's it. problem solved... also, to be on the safe side, used one of Dr. Q's No blow copper head gaskets. it's reusable so you'll never have to buy a new one.

I saw on here that someone said they didnt understand why the Banshee became more popular. I had one of each. I believe that the Banshee took off because it was much more rideable than the quadzilla. I know the guys on the west coast will say that is not the case, but you have to figure 90% of us dont get the pleasure of ridin the dunes. We are in the woods and this thing was a nightmare. The only thing they are good for in the mid-west is giant, smokey burnouts. That being said I think that the 250R, the Banshee, and the quadzilla were about 20 years ahead of their time and were all three truly amazing pieces!!

Is it true that the quadzilla has alot of vibration to the frame and is just for straight line drags?

Yes lots of vibration! but no more than any other mid 80's 500. All of them have tons of vibration, the dirtbikes were the worst namely the CR 500.
