Default Find of a LIFETIME!

I'm always scouring craigslist for good deals, but yesterday I think I made my best purchase yet. A 1988 quadzilla with chrome and billet everything for $550! The seller got it as a gift from his ex wife and didn't know about quads and said it lost compression. I got it home, screwed the spark plug in all the way, and wa la! Compression! Still doesn't kick over, so I'm gonna put new gas in, clean the carb, and air filter and see what happens. Even if I do have to rebuild the top end, I'd say it was still a good deal!

That is freakin awesome !!!!!! You could sell the plastics/seat and tires and get real darn close to $550. Wow that is an extremely awesome deal. Nice find.

haha thanks guys! I've always wanted the quadzilla. I've always been an ATC guys with the Honda 250r's but When I saw this I couldn't pass it up. I may be converted to a Suzuki lover if this thing treats me right. I hope it's just not too much bike for me! haha... and I hope it doesn't cost to much to get it going. I've tried kicking it over prob 30 times, and my right leg feels like it's gonna fall off!

Kicking is the worse part about those things.......I ride with a guy once in a while with 2 of them (his and hers) and he's in his mid-fifties. I talked to him a couple weeks ago and his is up for sale. Tired of kicking.
Nice Find! Is their a legal title that goes with it?

Man that's an awesome deal.

Secret to starting big 2 strokes:
I'm a small guy and have owned my share of 500's. I'm only 5'7 and weighed 150 when I had them.
Get the piston to tdc.
Let it sit for a sec for the compression to bleed down.
Then jump up on top of the kickstart and kickdown like chuck norris as you start to come down.
With my CR500 I used to have to lay it on it's side to fuel came out the over flow then do those steps and it would always light off in 1 or 2 kicks even cold. The KX500 I didn't have to do that just kick it.
