Estimated we were running 5.6 ish
Geez really? Apparently you can't be really fast in the builders class.....

That's really good times.

So no CC limits?

I really like the power out of the 470cc Z's, but I have also built a 500cc Z.

No cc limits. Only stock cc numbers are used for the initial classes, you could run a 500cc Z in the 400 builders class without issue.

Chuck wouldn't stop talking about rebuilding a 490, again.... just sayin.

If I can make it work, I may have a nasty LTR for you to compete against next year

I sent my head off to a.t.p for the port and polish today. And hopefully can afford cams for it and the High comp piston to.

The guy that beat me in the 450 class was on a yfz. I thought for a minute it might be you

It was nice to meet you in person. I had a blast there. There's a pretty good chance we'll be back.

I just need a way to keep the cylinder together. A 440 sleeve bored to 96mm wasn't the answer. I wonder how big web will go on LT-Z cams. I know there was enough meat in my 96mm piston to cut the valve pockets pretty deep. I bet I could break 60hp with a 490. The question is how long will the crank case last. Already broke one.

I would have some really wicked stuff if I had the money. This bike is reaching the outer limits of a useable multi purpose bike. It's getting to be a handful on a tight mx track just because it is so easy to overshoot a jump. If I could, or when I can, I would like to pick up an LTR to have as my main bike, and make the LT-Z into a dune/drag bike. I suppose if my 240k mile S-10 keeps going, it could happen, but I don't think that's too likely

I think the 470 will be here to stay for a little while unless I hit the lotto or something

What about the Athena jug bored and plated to 96mm? I'm throwing that around myself. My cw 94 is about shot, the back of the piston skirt is hitting the wall, I don't know if its just wear or a bad fit with the Je piston? Anyway, I have a 96mm Je piston in the shed with about 2 hours on it. I was thinking of trying to find an Athena jug in not so good of shape and having it bored and plated to fit the piston.

You need that roll cage and you know it Next time I come down, I will bring that cage, and we can make sure those heads are CFM worthy. Between losing 1k lbs of vehicle weight, fixing valve train geometry, and perfecting the heads, you will sh*t yourself

I still think we should "modify" the fire wall and move the engine back. It's not like you wanted a heater anyways.
