Suzuki king quad 300 engine locked up ????

Working on my brothers king quad 300. Problem .... won't start.. went thru standard checks. Battery, relay, neutral switch, starter. Found Defective starter. Armature burnt out. Installed new.. now starter clicks but does not turn engine. Tried pulling recoil starter and it does not pull, even with compression release open. Expect starter burnt out because engine locked up. Question is... what to check next? Remove recoil starter? Can I manually move flywheel then? Need advice

I think you are correct in thinking it may be seized. Mine is back home, and i can't remember if there is an access hole to get a socket directly on the left side crankshaft or not. If so, that is the way to try to turn it over. They were a hard pulling thing with the recoil too, by the way..
