G day I dropped the Eiger at the dealers . It was smoking like hell done a lot of work only problem I've ever had was it done a belt . Tough old bikes any way this rooster informs me it needs jug bored and he's ordered piston rings ect and it's gonna cost $120 hr and Probley take 7 hrs bout $1200 with parts . I thought bout half that is this normal .I'm thinking I'll pick it up and do it my self . Some advice on the time for a work shop man to do top end thanks

You can get a new cylinder, piston, and rings much cheaper and do it yourself. I work on aircraft worth millions and make 1/3 of what they’re charging hourly. Dealer rates are just insane. A manual will tell you everything you need to know how to do it yourself, just need torque wrenches, a feeler gauge, and be able to file ring gaps. Not all that difficult.
