06 ltz400 doesnt want to crank had the carb token off and rebuilt and when put back on I turned on key and tried to start it and just get a clicking noise now and the red light turns any advice as to what might be causing this tia
Have either of the battery cables been removed or damaged when the carb was removed?
Also, if all that is ok, I have a simple test that will show you if it is the solenoid, or the starter, in a case where the solenoid clicks, but the starter doesn't operate.
A test light will be needed. You connect the ground clamp to a reliable ground, and then touch the battery positive post to test the light. If it lights up nice and bright, proceed. If it's dim, your battery may be low or almost dead. Charge it if so.
Next, touch the probe to the terminal on the starter motor, and hit the starter button. When the solenoid clicks, the test light should light up. If it does, it shows you that positive voltage is provided to the starter, but the starter is not working. (If that is the case, sometimes you can tap on the starter, and get it to work again, but life is limited.
If the test light does not light up, it shows you that positive voltage is not provided, and the solenoid is bad.
