I am in need of a new carburetor and want to go back with an OEM type model. My bike is the USA/California E33 model. This California sub-model carburetor is over $700 list. The other USA models are high priced as well. The Canadian model is just over $400. Does anyone know the difference and can I run the Canadian model without issues to save the money? Does the Canadian model have the TPS and are there any other differences? (I assume that the jets are smaller in the California model to make it run leaner/cleaner)

yes, my bike does have the TPS which I understand that this only affects the ignition timing advance at higher RPM's.

And no, I do not want to put an FCR carburetor on it, have to make modifications, buy different cables, etc. or go to a twist throttle and/or delete the thumber throttle.

I am not sure but I see no reason why it will not work, FCR swap is easy and worth it. What ever you do don't buy a cheap knock off of either.

I agree Joe. That’s what I thought and the factory service manual says no different. The only difference is one says differently is for the fuel adjustment. One says 2.5 turns out and the other says “preset.” EPA hullabulla most likely. The Canadian one probably runs a little richer and makes a wee bit more power (if I had to guess). Either way I bought the Canadian oem milkuni from a local dealer.

$120 Bucks!!!
Get these 2 items and build a nice carb.
Start with the 150 main jet. In Cali carbs and carb rebuild kits come with a 130 which is way too small. I did and it rocks!!!

Note: You can't buy the DynoJet kit in Cali, drop ship it to a friend in another state and then have it mailed to you.

Note: You will not use the TPS any longer as the carb has no connector. No issues with this setup.

Note: Reuse the threaded throttle cable connector on the carb. Or add more threads all the way down on the new one.
