Hello guys. I have two z”s and i bouth have new valves, timing chain , piston and for one of it i replaced also the cilinder. In one word “fresh new motors”. Now i don”t know what i need to to for a long life motor. I hear someting like: heat up the motor, let it cool for 5-7 time. Ride 5h at 50% power. Change oil and ride it in normal condition. What its the best practice ?

What I do is ride it around for like 20 minutes with little throttle let it cool for an hour then repeat the first step. After my second ride I change the oil. After about 2 weeks I will go full throttle. This is how I break in my engine

I prefer to let her eat. I normally take mine to the local private mx track and drive it like i stole it with rev limiter usage.

Some say heat cycles some say other things, it seems like all work.

Make sure you give full throttle, even to half rpm is fine, your motor will thank you.
