I just took the baffle out of the pipe and that was a nice change.
Now my K&N is on the way, and a buddy told me to do this to the air box lid to help it breath and keep the dirt/mud and water out.
Cut 6 1" holes in the top of the lid, and line it with some sort of sponge that will allow a lot of air through, but not to contrictive, and cover it with chicken wire to hold it in place. This should let it breath better and still allow for riding in some water and mud holes with no problem. He did it on his old quadsport and never had a bit of trouble, but now he rides a stock raptor. "Cough"
I just removed the snorkel and lid and I went riding on Saturday and it was pretty muddy and wet in spots and I didn't have a lick of problems. The K&N is here and I haven't put it on yet but the stock one held up ok.
