I thought I would pass this information along, as I belong to 2 clubs and find that it's the best way to find others to ride with and places to ride.

For those of you that want some information on places to ride, you can check out
http://www.atvnorthernillinois.com <---ATV Club of Northern IL.
http://members.aol.com/quadbart <---ATV Trailmasters

Both websites have forums and the N IL website is new but has a list of places to ride.

The Trailmasters site has over 200 members and something is going on each week.

Foxvalley ATV park is having a mud bogs, drags and more this Sunday the 28th. more info here, http://www.megacross.com/foxvalleyor/index.html

I'm in the Rockford area, and the ATV Club of Northern IL is based in Amboy, IL. and the Trailmasters club is only a online club, but consists of members from all over northern and central IL. I beleive there are some from WI.
If you go on the sites, there are forums that post where people are going, some weeks there are a lot of people going places, other weeks there are very few.

This weekend, looks like something is going on. watch there forums.

Hope this helps.....

Tahnks for the info Kevin. But hat I was reallly getting at was, Where in the hell is Amboy. Never heard of it and couldn't find it on a map. Do you ever ride at Byron? That is near rockford, i think. You will have to exuse my geography ignorance, but I am new to Illinois!

There is supposed to be a place near/in Taylorville, IL (somewhere around the Aurora/St. Charles area. I haven't had a chance to look into it yet though. I usually head up to Fox Valey Off-Road, in Ottawa if I'm not in the mood for a road trip to The Badlands.

Try 3 caves it's not far from Fox Valley

I have been going to a place called 3 caves that is south of Fox Valley about 15 minutes. They are like 2 miles south of 13th road and route 6.
They have about the same amount of riding area, and offer different terrian. It's only $15 to ride, must have flag, and they do have food and drinks there. We are going there this Sunday.

There is a place in Sugar Grove that is free. It is next to I-88, west of I-47 by the Salt storage for the City. Plenty of space and best of all it is free. Nobody bothers you unless too many people show up. Then the cops will clear it out, but that has not happened since we have been going there for the past year.

The Trailmasters site has a bunch of OHV parks listed, but if you try to call any of them in the southern portion of the state, ask me b/c they're wrong. There's a place in Crab Orchard called Little Egypt for starters. http://www.leormc.com

The other w/in about 20-30 minutes is called Williams Hill Pass which is more of a utility park but has good sport riding and an MX track. I don't remember it's website but it's outside Harrisburg. They're both nice parks. Try them out sometime and if you do, email me and I'll be there.
