you can buy the kit right now if you want to. All of the kits and pipes from yosh are ready to ship, the only catch is that they are offered to suzuki dealers first. after they fill their orders they are shipped to those who ordered straight from Yosh. thats my problem, i ordered my pipe 3 weeks ago and still wont get it until next tuesday.

as far as getting the kit, i had the 440 kit on my 400ex and it ruled, after i see some machines with the big poppa kit and they are doing well ill probably get it. fast is good, but so is reliability.

just my $.02

They r out cuz of the dirtbike. I don't like it cuz its a 450? U can't race w/ that, it should be a 440. And u don't get to much w/out a new carb, porting and polishing. But when u combine them that will be the fastest Z for awhile.

I would get the 450 cuz then i'd be faster then everyone else. Most people think stroking an engine makes it unreliable but if u don't over dure then ur good. I think its slightly more reliable (if u don't over do it) cuz the engine revs slower but i don't know for sure. I think the reason for the price of the Big Papa kit is cuz u get a new cdi box that has a rev-limiter of 11,000rpms! But 46hp outta that????? Why do that when i can go 2 gtthunder and get the new FCR 40mm carb, new cams, exhuast andgt intake and have 46hp? Then i still have porting and polishing and boring?

Isn't big papa $1800, not $3000?  I think os.

Also, a carb and pipe will get you the same perfomance.[/b]
Carb, pipe, cams and new intake sytem.

"Assembled"

Forget that. Now even close to worth it. Just wait a year and get the next bigger, hotter bike. A predator or a Cannondale would be a better idea than wasting $3000 on a motor to get 6 hp. You'll never recover that money when you sell it.

It is all about speed and power. When you race, do you want to be second? Don't you want everybody to look and talk about your quad. With the 450 kit you can have the fans and win the race. They have had this kit out on the DRZ's for 2 years now. They are reliable and fast. Trinity Racing is doing some R&D on my quad which is sure to produce some gnarly power gains. If you wait you will see performance at a lower cost. Also, stock horsepower came in at 33 on the dyno.

I'm just waiting to see some hp #'s with a filter, exhaust, carb, and tuning. Also wondering how long its going to take them to come out with a smaller kit like the 416 for the ex. I know i'm not going to pay close to 3g's more on this quad right now, plus the price will def. drop once more kits come out. What do you guys think?

i imagine since yamaha has the yz450 and honda the cr450f, ama rules are changed, the atv rules will fallow suite i am sure. as for engine work goes, I think i will go with tom carlson, word is his drz440 that gust rides makes nearly 70hp, a 450 should be able to make 70.
