Hi I have a 2004 kfx400 that just shut off when I was riding it, it wasnt smoking, has oil, shifts through gears, and I think it still has compression but won't start and if I put it in gear eith the clutch out it will roll back freely like in neutral. I really need help what do you think is wrong?

Does it have power? As in, lights come on as normal? Kill switch works? Fuse is good? Battery cables tight?
If that all works, start checking connectors in the harness to see if they’re loose. Coil wiring, CDI, etc. If that’s all good, try a new plug.

If you have power, as in the lights and stuff work, check the coil, regulator/rectifier, and if you have access to a known good CDI, try swapping it and see if it runs. Do you have the stock CDI on it? Ive seen the cheaper aftermarket CDIs just quit. 3 did it to me. Also, make sure your wires are all good.
