Howdy,
Does anyone have know the diameter the journals ought to be for the cams in the 400? I bought an OSHC quite a while back that I intend to put on the intake side and run a stock exhaust cam.
It's a little scored so I was debating bringing it to work and having it tossed in a lathe to just barely skim it to take down and high spots or burrs. I got it for so cheap that if you think this is a really bad idea to run be honest, I don't have much invested in the idea of running this cam. If it ought to be okay then sweet, if not oh well.
Oh, and as a foot note I'd definitely Plasti gauge it, just not looking to waste one of our machinist's time if it's already on the small side of things.
Here's a pic of the offending cam.
