So my z smokes when under acceleration, from what I've been reading that's a dead giveaway that the rings are bad. NOW, where I'm finding inconsistencies is how to go about fixing it. Should I send my cylinder off to get bored out to 434 and re plated, do I just give her a quick hone, slap a new piston and rings in and call it good? Or should I just blow a ton of cash on a BBK? Pls halp.

The cost of boring and recoating the cylinder isn’t much less than replacing it. I’d just get a BBK.

Aight, I found a kit with the stuff I want. It come with stage 2 hotcams so should I get new valves? I don't really understand what difference there is between stock and aftermarket.

Unless something is driving the need for it, new cams and valves aren’t really “necessary”. Just depends on how fat your wallet is! Without a high rev limit CDI, you probably won’t notice much of an improvement in performance.

I would. That’s the kit I used. All you have to do is use a single-layer base gasket for the cylinder and gap the rings.

Ok, I'll see if it needs a new cylinder and if it does I'll get it. That way I can base all future mods around it. It'll probably be very similar to your build once I'm done. Is there a better way for me to contact you incase I have any more questions? If you don't mind of course.

Posting here sends me an email, which I check more often than phone calls (thanks to all the spam calls these days). Good luck on the build!
