I have been thinking about doing up my Z with new cams, port/polished head, and 13.5 to 1 piston. My question is this. If I do all of this and then switch to the DRZ thinner base gasket thus increasng my compression close to or even 14 to 1 will the bottom end hold it? Will I end up bending the rod or busting a crank? Another question is how well will the head gasket hold up to that abuse and what about the starter? Does the exhaust cam remove the decompression deal?
So many questions and so much power to build up. And the over time to pay for it all, YIKES!
