Hey guys I’m wondering about the timing on my KFX400 that I recently purchased. My engine seems to be way out of time. Can someone confirm this and if so how does this happen and what can I do to fix it? If I just take the cams out and realign them would I be fine?

That doesn't look right to me. Are the lobes in the 10 and 2 oclock position? If not, turn the crank once more till you hit top dead center like you did in the pic above, and send another pic for us.

amcf18 is spot on. The crankshaft turns twice for every 1 turn of the camshafts. So, every other time the piston is at TDC is right, and then next time is wrong. You are on the wrong TDC. You need to turn the crankshaft 360 degrees, then your marks will make sense, and the lobes will be pointing at 10 and 2 o'clock like amcf18 mentionted.

10 and 2 on the cam lobs. Your timing mark should be. IN CAM arrow 3 straight up and EX CAM arrow 2 straight up. Crank timing on T and 15pin on timing chain from arrow to arrow
